Parking information:Assembly is at Wellsway School Sports Centre. If driving please use the main School Car Park accessed from Chandag Road, BS311PH. W3W: watch,peanut,pilots Please follow tapes to registration. No dogs are allowed on the Wellsway School site, which includes the car park. Please make use of public transport. The X39 leaves Bristol every 20 minutes and it is a 5 minute walk from the Ellsbridge House stop. You may access the event from the Bath Rd entrance at W3W native.snaps.about. The event is also accessible by train. It is about 1 mile from Keynsham Station.
Dog rules:No dogs are allowed on the Wellsway School site, which includes the car park.

Details

Description:Part of BOK's Urban Series, with 10 events held most Wednesday evenings from late April to early July. Short, Medium and Long courses available. Best 6 results on each course score for series prizes, with separate male and female competitions. For this event there will also be a Junior course. Juniors (under 16) can only compete on the Junior course. The Junior course is entirely contained within the grounds of the playing fields and school building so will not involve crossing any roads. The Short course should be suitable for adult beginners orienteering either as individuals or as part of a group.

Courses

Course description:Map: The Keynsham map has been extended east to include residential housing and woodland. 1:5,000 with 5 m contours. The original map drawn by John Simmons with the new extension produced by David Faulkner and Michael Hallett in 2026. The map will be waterproof size A3 with courses overprinted. Terrain: Urban footpaths, residential streets, parkland, playing fields woodland. and other grass/unpaved areas and road shoes with good grips (but not spikes), running shorts and vests are suitable. Grassland may be particularly slippery if wet. The long, medium and short courses will have route choices which may include residential streets. The longer course will cross busier roads. All courses will start and finish on the school site.
